Retired Police Captain after 32 years of service at the Madison Police Department.  Started the Madison Addiction Recovery Initiative (MARI)  in 2015 which is a pre-arrest diversion program for people suffering from substance abuse disorders.  Currently an Executive Fellow with the National Police Institute, a member of the Project on American Justice with the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA) and subject matter expert in focused deterrence, drug diversion programs, and internal affairs.  Going to be working as consultant with TASC in 2023.
